Hello CCS Parents,

As the end of our second term is rapidly approaching, assessment is at the forefront of our minds. Please join us this Thursday at 8:30 in the Secondary Staffroom for a session focused on our newly revised Teaching and Learning Policy. The CCS Teaching and Learning Policy defines not only what is learning and what learning looks like in our classrooms but also how we reflect and report on learning. Included in the Teaching and Learning Policy is what parents do to support learning and we will provide information in this session on how parents can support learning at home over the school holidays.

In Year 1 through Year 6, your child’s CCS Report Card will be accessed a little differently this year. You will need to sign into Managebac. If you have a child in the Secondary Programme you already do this to access your child’s Report Card. The Managebac link will be sent out on Wednesday morning so please keep your eyes peeled for an email from Managebac. On Thursday, 12 December at 8:30 there will be a Primary parent session in the Primary Staffroom “Reports: Accessing and interpreting your child’s report” for those having issues accessing and/or reading your child’s Report Card. You can access a step by step guide to logging in here.

Secondary parents are invited to a session on “Reports and Assessment: What to expect and what it all means” in the Secondary Staffroom on Monday, 9 December at 8:30 am. This will focus on digging deeper into the reporting process in the Secondary programme.

Important dates to remember:

  • 6 December Sunset Concert
  • 7 December Saraswati Day
  • 9 December Secondary Parent Session
  • 11 December Report Cards Sent Digitally
  • 12 December Primary Parent Session
  • 12 December Let The Games Begin KS2 Production
  • 13 December End of Term 1/2 Day Dismissal at 11:30

We have a busy finish to the term but it has been a great first half of the school year!

Enjoy your holiday,

Mr Ben

Year 2 PPKN

Year 2 students have been learning what chores they do together at home with their family. We have been discussing, and identifying them by listening to short texts and playing snap games. When finished, the students shared the chores they do together at home and created a poster. – Ms Maya.

Year 7 French

In Year 7 French, we have been working on greetings, numbers, family, pets and in the last few weeks, we focused on school and subjects. Students have worked independently and very zealously on learning new words using Quizlet and memorize.

We had one fine result that needs to be shared:

Noah Lorenz, Y7 French, just got the first price worldwide on QUIZLET for training his vocabulary on everything related to school!
Ms Nathalie.

Year 8 Bahasa

Observation report text.

Year 8 students have been exploring observation report texts. They identified the format and structure through examples. Students also found out information about observation reports from different resources. They read independently and clarified their understanding. – Ms Rusmala.

Year 8 Art

Indonesian Studies

The Indonesian Accreditation team visited our Indonesian Study (Drama/Dance) group while they were rehearsing for their performance. This semester, the group has been exploring Sumatran cultures that include five dances and folklore entitled “Malin Kundang”; an ungrateful son who got cursed by his mother. – Mr Ngurah.

Every Thursday CCS staff wear Indonesian Traditional Clothes.
