Why CCS?

Our students experience empowered learning. What do we mean by empowered? Empowered means students are involved in and own their learning – they ask questions as inquirers, make choices, explore passions, take risks, and value their learning. Learning is facilitated by established curriculum and objectives, including in our IGCSE and IBDP programmes. Our students develop the skills, understanding, and mindset needed to thrive in a changing world.

CCS students engage in a wide range of activities in and out of the classroom. Opportunities include sports, a robust After School Activities programme, Week Without Walls, enrichment opportunities like Model United Nations, Duke of Edinburgh, House competitions, and a thriving Service-Learning programme. Our students are confident collaborators. Visitors are regularly surprised by how confident even our youngest students are, sharing about their learning, ideas, and passions. 

We value respect for self, others, and the environment. CCS students live out this value in all of their interactions. Our students often share how different the CCS community is – they feel part of a community, respected as an individual, and free to be themselves. We also practice deep respect for our local environment through service-learning, curriculum focused on sustainability, and many student-led initiatives to tackle local environmental issues.

Balance is a core value at CCS.  Students experience a balanced curriculum and holistic approach. Our students love the arts, including Music, Drama, and Visual Arts, all of which are core curriculum components. They are physically active through PE, learn multiple languages in all year-levels, and experience hi-tech learning. Balance also drives our proactive approach to student health, mindfulness, and well-being. 

Bali offers incredible opportunities for adventure! CCS students get to climb volcanoes, trek through rice fields, collect data while scuba diving, organize beach cleanups and surf fundraisers, and enjoy all Bali has to offer. Families choose Bali and CCS for this unique adventure, allowing students to take risks, develop confidence, find new passions, and practice well-being.

Global Citizenship is at the core of learning and engagement at CCS.  Students develop global citizenship through service-learning, explore real issues from around the globe, and collaborate with others. 

The CCS Campus is different: a blend of modern learning spaces, Indonesian architecture and art, and Bali’s incredible natural beauty. Campus is covered in lush gardens, bordered by rice-fields, and even has a small river running through it. Our beautiful and natural campus helps support student wellbeing, balance, and joy for learning.    

Quality teachers drive student learning.  CCS teachers are experienced, internationally qualified, and have a deep care for students.  They are enthusiastic and passionate about kids and learning.  While CCS teachers set high standards, they are also fun and love bringing out the best in students.  Our student-teacher ratio is 8:1 and we are proud to have a positive retention rate for our quality teachers.  CCS works hard to recruit the best teachers available from around the world.  80% of our classroom teachers are expatriates, while we are supported by a large and professional team of Indonesian teachers and assistant teachers.
