|9-10 Mixed||This year CCS entered one team in the 9-10Y category. They played in the ‘West-Side’ league against 5 teams from other schools. All students worked really hard this season, losing four matches but winning one. They all made great improvement in their individual skills, teamwork and sportsmanship.
|11-12 Boys||The Blue team had a great season winning all of their games and finishing as BSSA Champions by beating AIS 2-0.
The White team had a challenging season, playing against some A and B Division teams. They made great progress and even managed to pick up a win against an A Division team. Despite their great efforts they did not make it to B Division Final this time.
The Yellow team had a tough start to the season. However, they showed their perseverance and developed their skills and managed to win 2 of their last 3 games. They went on to make it into the B Division Final against Dyatmika. It was a very close game but thanks to their great effort they won the game 2-1 to become the B Division Champions.
|11-12 Girls||CCS entered 3 teams into the 11-12Y girls category this year. Out of the 5 teams in the ‘West-Side’ league our Blue, Yellow, and White teams placed in the top 3 positions respectively. In the A Division Finals, CCS Blue were too strong for Dyatmika and BIS, taking the trophy home with some excellent play. CCS Yellow also gave a convincing performance in the B Division Final to beat BIS.
This achievement could not have been possible without the girls’ willingness to always strive for their best performances during practices and games.
|13-15 Boys||The Blue team had a great season this year, they were unbeatable during the ‘West-Side’ season picking up 18 points and topping the league. In their overall semi-final they met BIS and beat them in two sets. In the final, they faced a very tough opponent from the ‘East-Side‘ in Dyatmika. The boys went onto defeat their major rivals in a sudden death game to win 2-1 and win the A Division trophy. The White team were strong performers this season and their matchplay steadily improved throughout the season. The Yellow team, while they didn’t have much success on the scoreboard, their skills and teamwork improved markedly throughout the season.

|13-15 Girls||CCS entered 3 teams into the 13-15Y girls category this season. The girls completed their ‘West-Side’ league season with all teams finishing in the top 3 places.
Despite missing out on a Finals place, the Yellow team showed great improvement in their play throughout the season as well as great sportsmanship and collaboration.
CCS Blue and White went through to the Finals to compete for the A and B Division trophies respectively. The Blue team completed the semi-finals with a 2-0 win against BIS. They went through to the final against Dyatmika were they also won 2-0 to take the A Division trophy home. The CCS Blue team have shown incredible dedication as a team and high levels of skill as individual players. An outstanding team that truly deserves the trophy. Each player developed and refined their advanced skill set this season.
The White team went straight into the B Division Final against Dyatmika. They won the first set comfortably and started to show great communication and skill as a team. The second set had a tough start but the girls soon pulled it together and got the 2-0 win. They took home the trophy and showed great improvement as individual players and as a team this season. One to watch next year.
Well done to all the girls who trained and played this year!
It has been a long but very successful season for the boys this year. Both of our teams started the season with strong performances in the ‘West-Side Friendly Tournament’ hosted by CCS. The Blue team played really well to take the runners-up spot, whilst the White team picked some good wins, most notably against The Green School. All boys got back to work in practices and worked really hard in preparation for the BSSA Finals. When the Finals came around the boys were ready and they really brought their ‘A’ game!
The Blue team, playing in the A Division, started slowly but rallied to put in some fantastic performances against BIS and then Dyatmika in Semi-Final. Time and time again they scrambled hard to save several points that seemed unwinnable. They also set up some excellent attacking play and their team spirit was evident for all to see throughout the tournament. In the Final they came up against very strong opposition in SLK. After losing a close first set they fought back to win the second, but just ran out of steam in the third and finished in the runners-up spot. This was a fantastic achievement for the boys especially considering that all of them are Year 11 students and were playing against many Year 12 and 13 students throughout the day. They definitely have the ability to go one further next year, well done boys.
It was also a very successful day for the White team. Again, after a shaky start they still went onto win all of their pool games and reach the B Division Semi-Finals. Here they also played a strong Dyatmika team. After some close points and games, they maintained their composure to win 2-1. This set up a very competitive Final against the hosts BIS. Throughout the tournament the boys started to play in a more consistent manner and as they did this their confidence grew and grew. They took this confidence into the Final and were able to set up some strong attacking opportunities. This coupled with the energy in defence helped them to a fantastic 2-0 win and the B Division trophy!
A final well done to both teams for your effort and enthusiasm throughout the season!
|16+ Girls||The Senior Girls Volleyball Blue and White Teams had an incredibly successful season this year. Our first chance to play against other schools was in the West Side Friendly Tournament, hosted at CCS in front of loads of fans (and understandable pressure). The girls stepped up to the challenge, and the only sets they lost were when they played one another, with the Blue team coming out on top. They placed first and second place that day. We knew that we would face tougher competition at the BSSA Finals, and once again, the girls were ready. After the Blue team lost to BIS in the first match of the tournament, they won the rest of their games in their round robin. They faced BIS again in the finals, and won in two dominating sets. Our White team won every single match they played in the tournament, with their winning finals also being against the hosting BIS. All players showed impressive resolve, athleticism, and teamwork throughout the season. Both their confidence within themselves and their trust between one another grew as the tournament progressed and this had a huge impact on their play in their respective championship finals. Congratulations to all of our senior players!!
