We are a showcase group from Year 6. Our topic is bullying.
Next week on March 15th, we invite you all to wear pink shirts to school to raise awareness about bullying and show that we include others no matter who they are or what they are like. If you don’t have a pink shirt, you can dye a shirt pink, or borrow a pink shirt from someone!
Where did it start? It all started in 2007 when some students saw a boy getting bullied because he was wearing a pink shirt. The 12th graders finished school that day and went to a shop that sells pink shirts. They bought them to give to their classmates. Soon after people started wearing pink shirts to support the boy that was getting bullied. It has become an international celebration also known as Pink Shirt Day!
