Dear CCS Parents,
Term 2 is already going very quickly at CCS! Thank you, Secondary parents, for engaging in this week’s Parent-Teacher Conferences. Your partnership in support learning at home is essential! While we expect students to take ownership over their learning more and more as they grow, parent engagement continues to be essential even into the IB Diploma Programme.
We have a number of big events to look forward to this term:
- This Friday is our FOCCS Halloween Party, another great opportunity to get together as a whole school community.
- Saturday 9 November is our second annual Community Assist Basketball tournament, organized by a number of IB students as part of their Creativity, Activity, and Service component.
- Tuesday 12 November is our Year 9 and 11 Options Evening, a time to learn about Courses available as students make choices for IGCSE and IBDP next year.
- December 6 is our Sunset Concert and we are finalizing plans to make this an exciting Christmas Fair event. Watch for more information soon!
- The Primary Production (Year 3-6) takes place in December this year, presenting two performances on Thursday 12 December.
- Semester Reports will be issued digitally on Wednesday 11 December.
Thank you for your engagement in our community, in the fun showcases as well as important opportunities to guide and support your students academically, personally, and socially.

Second Annual CCS x Indosole x PNNY Community Assist Basketball Tournament
By Kalila Eckstein and Michelle Robertson
We are proud to announce that this year’s Community Assist 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will be hosted on the CCS secondary campus on Saturday, November 9 from 8 am – 6 pm. This is a long weekend for the school, so please mark the date in your calendars if you’re planning to attend. Last year’s event raised just under 40 million IDR, which helped build four new homes in Lombok following the earthquake and tsunami. This year’s fundraising goal is over 100 million IDR, with all proceeds again going to The Shelter Project, as well as Pulau Plastik, a Kopernik project. This tournament is a CAS Project, organized by Year 12 and 13 students in collaboration with Indosole and PNNY.
Team registration opens this Wednesday, October 23, and runs until Wednesday, November 6. There are two divisions: Pro (for youth in Years 10-13), and Open division (for adults). In order to register, every team requires 3-5 players, you will need to create a team name, and select a team colour that you can all wear on the day of the event. Pro division teams must pay a registration fee of 100,000 IDR/player, while Open division teams will pay 1,000,000 IDR/team. The Facebook page and event will be shared soon; the Google form to register will be available on this site.
Even if you’re not playing, there will be lots to keep you entertained on the day of the tournament – along with the basketball games, there will again be a community marketplace, raffle prizes, food and drink for sale, a silent auction, interactive art sessions, live music, and much more! There will be an entrance fee of 25,000 IDR that will include a raffle ticket.
We hope to see you out there! If you have any questions, or are able to sponsor this event, please contact the Community Assist team at [email protected] . Please also follow us on Instagram: @communityassistbali .
