The 9-10Y mixed teams had a great basketball season this year, especially the ‘Blue’ team who won all the games. Thanks to their commitment and effort during practices and in games, all of our teams showed improvement week by week. Due to a lack of players on occasion, the ‘Yellow’ team had to work harder than most this season. In some games, they had no substitutes but still always gave their best. The season ended with some fantastic victories for our ‘Blue’ and ‘White’ teams against AIS. Some improved teamwork created more chances to shoot and impressive final scores of; Blue vs AIS 1 (28:2), Blue vs AIS 2 (32:0), White vs AIS 2 (14:2), WHITE vs AIS 1 (19:0).
Mr. Wayan and Mr. Iwan
This season has been great for our 11-12Y Boys teams. The ‘Blue’ team managed to finish as the top team in the West-Side league and played against a very strong opponent Dyatmika A in their overall Semi-Final. A very competitive game, unfortunately, our boys lost by a single point. Although this loss did not get our boys down, they stood back up and fought against AIS for third place and won the game 13-3. The ‘White’ team also did a great job and made it to the overall ‘B Division’ Final after winning games against some West-Side ‘A Division’ teams. The boys tried their best in the B Division final but just lost out. Our ‘Yellow’ team performed with great effort throughout the season, also beating some ‘A Division’ teams in their league games. Hopefully, all students can do better again next year.
The 11-12Y Girls ‘Blue’ team won all of their games in the ‘West-Side’ league season, which sent them to the ‘A Division’ Semi-Final as the first place ‘West-Side’ team. They beat Dyatmika in their Semi-Final in a tight 10-9 game but was narrowly defeated by BIS in the Final. The ‘White’ team played in the ‘B Division’ Final but finished in second place after a close-fought loss to BIS 2. Overall, the girls had lots of fun and played in good spirits throughout the season. Hopefully, both teams can go one step further next year.
It has been a very successful season for our 13-15Y Boys teams. Our ‘Blue’ team finished as the highest ranked ‘West-Side’ team. After some strong early performances, their most notable win came against a very competitive SLK ‘Red’ side. In their Finals competition, they fought hard to finish 4th overall. Our ‘White’ team went from strength to strength as their season progressed earning them a place in overall B Final. They put up their best performance of the season in this game but narrowly missed out on the trophy. Well done to all of the boys, hopefully, we can all go one step further next year.
There is no limit to what can be accomplished when nobody cares who gets the credit. Our 13-15Y Girls teams are a great example of this slogan in action. Our ‘Blue’ team played a total of 7 games this season, with the only loss coming by 5 in the BSSA Finals vs the Golden State Warriors of Bali (Dyatmika). Our ‘White’ team played 4 games against other schools, going 2-2 and earning a spot in the overall B Final, also fighting bravely but coming up short against Dyatmika. With injuries and absences hitting our teams hard during the season, each game featured different stars. Our girls showed true grit and played hard for each other, taking turns shining on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Congratulations on a great season ladies.
The girls worked extremely hard in training sessions as well as on court during the Senior Basketball finals at BIS. They came up against some strong teams in Dyatmika and BIS. They held their own and scored some great baskets during competition with the Green School and SLK. The girls worked well together and showed some great skill with their defensive play. Well done!
